Torre Alfina was built around the impressive castle and everywhere you enjoy beautiful views and hiking trails.
There are two excellent restaurants, two cafes and a famous “gelateria”. There is also a bakery and a grocery. One can use the Hotel pool and have use of the public tennis court.
In a range of 35- 45 km you will find various thermal springs: San Casciano dei Bagni , Terme San Filippo, Saturnia, Terme dei Papi of Viterbo. Orvieto and Bolsena with its vulcanic lake are just 18 km away. Other important Etruscan towns such as Pitigliano, Sovana, Sorano is less than one hour drive. Nearby (2 km) there is “The Acrogliders National Centre” where you can enjoy turistic flights by airplane or glider.
Roma and Firenze are easily reached by train from Orvieto leaving the car at the station parking, or by highway A1 (135 km to Rome and 170 km to Firenze). It is worth while driving to Siena and southern Tuscany, Assisi and Perugia, for the beautiful landscapes that take you all the way.
